Recently, Lincoln has introduced its redesigned version of MKZ at the Auto Show in Los Angeles for the 2017 model year, so it is no surprise that its Ford matching part, the 2017 Ford Fusion is also going to be introduced at the Motor Show in Detroit. Actually, the 2017 model Fusion is the redesigned version of the 2013 model Fusion that comes as a second generation Fusion. Similar to its predecessor, the new Fusion comes with immense external styling and wealthy interior elements to vie competently with its competitors.
This time also, the new vehicle comes outfitted with four, fine-tuned engines to offer buyers better performance and fuel saving. As a result, Ford has not made much change in the engine section, interior and exterior designs of the new vehicle, as it is already appearing stylish and aggressive. However, Ford has given top priority to the convenience and safety of both passengers and the vehicle alike.
2017 Ford Fusion Changes, Exterior
Lately caught testing in the Michigan streets, the redesigned next generation Ford Fusion has an innovative front bumper with an improved lower intake and novel fog lights. The thinner headlights, the front and back bumpers and the grille will likely get some minor updates, too. Out rear, there is not much to say, but it seems the taillights will have modified graphics. All lights of the new Fusion, including the fog lights come equipped with LED bulbs to perk up the external look of the vehicle.
The side outline of the 2017 Fusion continues with the same style, while its back fascia would come outfitted with a redesigned bumper. Buyers of the new vehicle can expect more commanding gear on its signature styling, probably in spite of keeping up a little outside styling of the 2015 Mustang.

The new Fusion 2017 is expected to come with an internal refreshing, as well. It is also in the works and the cabin of the new Fusion could contain a novel steering wheel and the accumulation of a rotary shifter. The new vehicle would also be outfitted with the innovative SYNC 3 infotainment arrangement that is quicker, more instinctive, and easier to exploit than the existing MyFord Touch structure. The new model Fusion would also be well-matched with the novel SYNC Connect app, which allows owners to start the engine, lock or unlock the doors, and confirm the level of the fuel in the vehicle remotely.
Furthermore, for the luxuriousness, the seats inside the cabin are covered in high quality fabrics that offer great comfort to the occupants. The center console will also be improved and it is located just close to the highly decorated dashboard. To offer necessary safety to the occupants and for the new Fusion itself, the vehicle comes equipped with a plethora of safety features, such as:
Adaptive travel control.
Dynamic park support.
Blind spot screens.
A back view digital camera.
Lane maintaining system.
Lane departure alert.
This time, Ford has provided its new Fusion with three traditional motors and one hybrid mill to improve its performance and to decrease the fuel consumption.
The first and the base engine that is going to power the new Fusion will be a 2.5-liter mill that comes equipped with four cylinders. This would generate the sufficient power and torque of 175 horsepower and 175 lbs for each foot respectively.
Another 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine is going to power the Titanium mock-up of the 2017 Fusion to offer it the sufficient torque and power of 231 lbs for each foot and 240 horsepower respectively.
The third 2017 Ford Fusion engine, which is going to power the SE trim of the new model Fusion, would be an EcoBoost engine with four cylinders. This would be a 1.5-liter capacity mill to offer the vehicle the maximum torque and power of 185 lbs for each foot and 181 horsepower.
All trims of the 2017 Fusion, but the Titanium trim, will be attached with a six-rated automatic transmission, while the Titanium trim would be offered the same transmission with a supplementary paddle shifter. Ford offers its new model Fusion with the front-wheel drive system and with the all-wheel drive mode.
The 2017 Fusion will also be introduced with a hybrid version that comes with a base model and hybrid model. The base model of the vehicle would come prepared with an Atkinson mill. This four-cylinder mill will have the displacement of 2.0 liters, which generates 141 HP of power and 129 lbs for each foot of twist.
Alternatively, the new Ford Fusion 2017 hybrid mock-up comes prepared with an 88kW electric motor, which will be mated to the CVT gearbox. In contrast, the mill of the plug-in variants will be coupled with a set of lithium-ion battery of power 7.6 kWh, while the average hybrid variants will be coupled with an electric motor of power 1.4 kWh.
The less powerful motor of the new model Fusion will offer a standard mileage of 28 mpg, while other two other high-capacity motors offer a standard mileage of 26 mpg. The hybrid variant can travel up to 19 miles by means of the electric power with the standard mileage of 42 mpg.
