The 2016 Toyota Camry is a mid-sized sedan which was first introduced in the Chicago auto show of 2015. Camry is said to be Toyota’s second bestselling car model after Corolla. The first Camry was introduced as a compact sized car in 1982. Later, the Camry was upgraded from compact-sized to mid-sized models in 1991. 2016 Camry belongs to the twelfth generation of the long running and widely loved mid-sized sedan. Camry has also been the best sold car for 13 years in the U.S.
2016 Toyota Camry Changes, Exterior
“Oh so sleek and oh so stylish”, only this can be said about exterior. No wonder it is the best sold car in the U.S. Many upgrades have been made; the body kit has been reshaped for aerodynamic purposes, a power moon-roof has been added, the tail lamps appear to more darker in shade. The mid size sedan will be available in 4 trims; L, LE, SE and XLE, while the hybrid Camry will be offered in 3 trims; L, limited units of SE trim and XLE trims. All the trims will have 18 inch alloy wheels as a standard. The SE hybrid trim will have 17 inch wheels with a rear spoiler and fog lights. The 2016 Toyota Camry hybrid SE model will only have two exterior paints; Blue Streak Metallic and Blizzard Pearl.

The interior has also been upgraded. It could safely be said that the interior is more lavish and comfortable than its exterior. The driver seat is adjustable in 8 different ways. Premium “SofTex” leather is used in the seats upholstery and on the steering wheel in the SE hybrid trim. the SE trim also includes Bluetooth connectivity and a sporty gauge cluster. 6 inch touchscreen and 4.2 inch instrument panel is a standard for the hybrid L model. XLE hybrid will feature adjustable passenger seats, heated front seats, tire pressure monitoring and a navigation system. Qi wireless charging is standard in all trims.
The 2016 Camry will be featured with two engine choices; hybrid and gas. The hybrid will have 2.5 litre 4C engine combined with an electric motor, which can generate around 178 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque. New Toyota Camry 2016 Hybrid LE was estimated to have 43/39mpg, SE to have 40/38mpg and XLE to have around 40/38mpg by the EPA. While the latter is supposed to have a 3.5 litre V6 engine which generates around 268 horsepower and 248 pound-feet of torque. Both the engine types are equipped with a 6 speed automatic transmission. There are some news that will be third engine, Atkinson-cycle 2.5L 4 cylinder Hybrid with 6-speed automatic transmission, but these are just rumors.
Release Date and Price
2016 Toyota Camry price has not yet been announced but is expected to revolve around $25,500 to $28,000 for the XLE trim. Camry is supposed to go for sale this fall as a 2016 year model. Only 12,000 units of special edition (SE) Camry will be produced from 2015 August to 2016 January. Camry’s 2016 mid size sedan is said to be the perfect car for those who wish for “a little aggression and technology”. Equipped with husky looks and a comfortable interior, Camry is worth to be called Toyota’s second best selling car.
