The 2016 Mercedes-Benz C450 AMG Sport Sedan is an upgraded version of Mercedes-Benz C400 AMG. The C450 is designed to slip in between the standard models offered and the fully-fledged Mercedes-Benz AMG models. Basically the C450 is said to have, what we like to call “best of both world” features.
The exterior is highly resemblant to C400 and has little touches adapted from the AMG models, all in all have a sporty look while also not off-tracking from the C-Class AMG appearance outlines. The front features diamond-meshed air intakes with a silver chrome trim, bearing the AMG logo on it. Other features are a matt-iridium silver diffuser for the rear bumper, black exterior waistline trim mirror housing and window frames and chrome-plated twin tailpipe trims. It is equipped with 18 inch 5 spoke wheels (19 inch optional) which are wrapped around 225/45 R 18 and 245/40 R 18 front and rear tires respectively.
The interior is well crafted with the help of MB-Tex upholstery; MB-Tex leather is also used on the armrests, center console, upper body edges and on the center of the door panels, while it is stitched with contrasting red threads. The seatbelts are red and so are the edges of the floor mats. This red contrast makes the cabin interior interesting and attractive. It also features a 3-spoke Nappa sports steering wheel with a moulded grip and silver trim for a more comfortable driving experience.
2016 Mercedes-Benz C450 AMG Sport Engine
The 2016 Mercedes-Benz C450 AMG Sport features a 3.0 liter twin turbocharged V6 engine, same as C400’s, yet it is able to produce 362 horsepower and a torque of 384lb.ft. (Upgraded from 329 horsepower and 354 torque generated from the C400 engine), this increase is due to boost in the turbo pressure. The engine also features a 7G-tronic seven-speed automatic transmission, supplying power to the 4matic all-wheel drive. C450 takes only 4.9 seconds to accelerate from 0-60mph and generating a maximum speed of 155mph. They have also added C63’s sport-adaptive suspensions and adjustable dampers.
Other noticeable features are the seven speed transmissions the automatic shifts are much quicker, while there are no automatic shifts in manual mode even at redlines and kickdowns. There is lesser pressure from the exhaust systems, enhancing power and creating a noticeable rumble from the exhaust.
